Interested in testing your application on a LIVE BlackBerry OS7? Perfecto Mobile is the way!

Last meet-up, we have discussed why we need to consider OS 7 when creating apps. And for us to be able to test our applications (regardless if it’s a new one or old apps), we need something that we can run it to. Given the fact that OS 7 devices are not yet within our reach, Perfecto Mobile can be a good alternative or maybe the best way to go. :)

Perfecto Mobile, a global provider of cloud-based testing, automation and monitoring solutions for mobile applications, is starting a special limited-time offer to test your applications on BlackBerry 7 OS smartphones, using Perfecto Mobile’s cloud-based mobile application testing solution. The exclusive promotion offers you a free 2 hour testing trial period on Perfecto’s MobileCloud™ for BlackBerry 7 OS smartphones and additional testing hours can be purchased at a discounted rate of $4 USD plus tax per hour beyond the initial 2 hour period.

So try this out and check if your apps will run on OS 7. This is also a good place to test NFC capable applications. Take note that most users that buys applications in AppWorld uses OS 5 and above so you’ll have a bigger target market.

Try it out now!

August 23rd Meet-up Roundup

The group had a successful meet-up last August 23rd held at Chowking Villar St. Makati with 25 attendees.

First on the agenda was the Developer Challenge and the incentive that the group members can avail by submitting an app for the challenge, as discussed by John. At most 30 members will have a chance to get a free pass to the free BlackBerry DevCon Asia 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand this December 7-8. We will be posting a separate article about this.

John also talked about the newest updates on the BlackBerry development including OS7 and its new features and supporting devices, particularly the Bold 9900; and finally the BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform.

I, othe other hand, talked about the relaunching of the pinoyBBdev blogsite. For those who haven’t signed up yet, please signup HERE. To all members from the old pinoyBBdev site, we apologize we are not able to save your accounts, so we encourage you to sign up again. I also discussed the features and had a demo of the BlackBerry PlayBook, which was recently released here in the Philippines.

We closed the meet-up with a discussion regarding the group committees, which will help in contents management and organizing events. To anyone who are interested to be part of any of these committees, please send us an email at pinoybbdevmgr@pinoybbdev.com. And of course the raffle of BlackBerry merchandise from RIM, and other items from Novare Technologies.
